Saint Bernard's cross country team is open to boys and girls. The season begins in late August and runs through late October. Our Cross Country team starts running the very first day of practice, so all perspective and returning members of the team need to be able to run at least 2 miles without stopping. This level of fitness is necessary to be successful at practices and to be prepared to run the various distances at cross country meets. Team members should try to attend all practices each week and are expected to attend all cross country meets.
Cross country courses may include areas of dirt, grass, gravel, streets, and hills. Each cross country course presents unique challenges to the competing athletes. Consequently athletes are encouraged to evaluate their performances on the same course, in contrast to between courses.
